Just when you thought all the major red carpet events were over, Day 1 of Cannes, the elegant 10-day film festival on the French Riviera, arrived yesterday. In a swirl of gowns, jewels, and smiles, the stars brought their A-game. We’re rounding up our favourite lash looks of the evening. Let’s take it from the top!
It’s hard to go wrong with classic Hollywood glam, and that’s exactly what Selena Gomez did. In one of her first public appearances after a long-time break, Selena showed up with a perfect red lip and a dramatic winged eye. But it’s those big, fluttery lashes that seal the deal!
Eva Longoria is famous for loving thick, luxurious lashes, and yesterday was no different. The L’Oreal spokeswoman went for glossy lips, mauve shadow, and bronzed cheeks that served as a more muted backdrop for the star attraction — bright eyes framed by long, bold lashes.
Highlighter was definitely a major part of Araya A. Hargate’s look, featuring luminous skin paired with a pink lip and an ultra-feline cat eye liner. What we love most are her lengthy, wispy lashes that emphasize the flick of her eye makeup.
To paraphrase Mugatu from the movie Zoolander, monochromatic looks are so hot right now. Model Izabel Goulart leaned into the look in a plum gown, matching ombre plum earrings, and plum eyeshadow. All that plum was wisely broken up by rich black, feathery lashes.
