2019 is nearly here and this is your chance to get ahead of the beauty game! We talked to our LashPRO Academy Educators to get their hot take on the freshest trends for the new year.
So what'll we all be buzzing about next year?
1. Metallic Lids + Classic Lashes

When talking 2019 trends, you've got to start with NYE. Metallic eyelids are a classic choice on December 31st, and this year, we're stepping it up with gold foil liner. It's not a look for the faint of heart, but as Sugarlash PRO CEO & founder, Courtney Buhler says, "This is New Year's Eve glam inspo! The gold foil liner is set off by a classically extended lash line using our Silk extensions." If your New Year's resolution was to be bolder, this is the look to start 2019 off RIGHT.
2. Short, Dense Volume Lashes

In 2019, we'll be all about bringing the drama — WITHOUT the length. According to LashPRO Academy Educator, Yuel Loo, these thick, full sets are inspired by the top fashion houses' most dramatic makeup looks. "Last year, rich black liner and graphic editorial makeup ruled the runways. This year, it finds a new home as part of a regular daily look and inspires the short, yet full, lash trend!"
3. Glossy Makeup + Natural-Looking Lashes
Wet-look is in. No, not hair. We're talking high-gloss makeup. We're predicting this makeup trend, which reared its head in 2018, will go strong into the next year, continuing to kick matte to the curb. And since high-gloss makeup evokes images of tropical heat, it's no surprise that it pairs perfectly with the natural look when it comes to lashes. "The lash trend of 2018 has been a more natural, yet full, lash line," says LashPRO Academy Educator, Samantha Taylor, "And I think the trend is going to ride into 2019 alongside the popularity of lash lifts. It's hard to beat the combination of the convenience of eyelash extensions and the minimalistic French approach to beauty."
4. Bold, Coloured Lashes

Missing vibrant makeup? 2019 will be your year — in full colour. "I think coloured lashes are also going to be big in 2019," says Educator Kristen Ann Wade, "New York Fashion Week featured models with vibrant colour pops (like eyes or lips) and clean faces! This year, designers like Anna Sui and Alice & Olivia chose pops of vibrant colours on the eye."
5. The Textured, Strip Lash Look
You know what they say — if it ain't broken, rock it on your lids. The spiky Kim K-inspired lashes have been going strong for a while — and LashPRO Academy Educator, Crystal Harvey, thinks they have true staying power. "2019 is still about the big textured sets. I think we can give a bit of credit to Kim and her sisters, but strip lashes have been a desired look for years. The best part is that now we can recreate this style for clients with ultra-lightweight extensions!"
