Convert your holiday clients into lash lovers with these six tips (+ keep them coming back after the party is over!)

Eyelash extensions create a beautiful and dramatic appearance, making them the perfect Holiday Accessory! Ensure your clients fall in love with their Holiday look by teaching them how to care for their extensions. Goal - Turning those one-time clients into lifelong lovers of extensions.

1. Avoid Mascara

When you have gorgeous lash extensions, mascara is no longer needed. In fact, applying mascara could even reduce the lifespan of eyelash extensions. The action of pulling a mascara brush though the lash extensions, followed by rubbing to remove the mascara at the end of the day, can weaken the adhesive bond between the extension and natural eyelash.

2. Application Skin and Eye Creams

The oils in skin creams are great for moisturizing skin, but they can also break down the adhesive that holds your eyelash extensions in place. Keep skin creams well away from eye area to protect lashes and extend their lifespan. Before choosing a specific cream consult with a beauty expert regarding ingredients and possible effects.

3. Use Gentle Makeup Remover

Use only oil-free makeup removers on eyelash extensions. Removers with oil can weaken the glue, and force lashes to come off. There are many brands of makeup removers that are oil-free and alcohol-free, so do some research before picking up a bottle. (Pro-Tip: Sell LashPure Cleanser to your clients this season to gently remove makeup without damaging the extension bonds, protecting the lifespan of those holiday lashes!)

4. Sleep Position

Sleeping face down on the pillow can damage eyelash extensions, and could lead to them eventually falling out. Making the conscious decision to sleep the back will prolong the life of the extensions. The less eyelashes make contact with pillows and blankets, the longer the glue will remain unharmed.

5. Choose a Suitable Curl

Use what your Mama gave you!  If your eyelashes are naturally straight, then straight lashes will hold in place better than those with a strong curl. As the eyelash professional, you will know best, so discuss curl options and see how you can keep those lashes looking natural.

6. Hands off!

The more you touch eyelash extensions, the more likely it is that the glue will loosen and cause the lashes to fall out. Avoid making any unnecessary contact with the eye area; rubbing the eyes, playing with the extensions, rubbing the face with a towel to dry, and touching then when putting on makeup!
